TPR at the Hot Summer Nights market
Thanks to Karen’s kindness in offering us a free space, we set up an information table at the Hot Summer Nights market on Thursday July 15. Quite a few people stopped to chat and look at our display.
Our display boards (loaned by Wendy Pelton) looked great, with “the problematic present” on the left, showing Peak Oil, Climate Change, and Economic Instability in graphs and charts; then we had a big Transition arrow in the middle, and transition-specific pictures around it; and on the right, “A Desirable Future” showing was of supplying our own food, energy and transport locally.
We had a lot of books on the table, along with a sign-up sheet and handbills for the July 29th film screening of End of Suburbia, most of which got given out. An encouraging number of people stopped to talk, and were aware of the problems and eager to do something about them.
